The
great thing about blogs is that they can be about anything and it is a
fresh perspective from outside the mainstream. Do you love to travel?
Start a travel blog and it becomes your unique view on the topic. For
this post I want you to pretend this is your blog. Write a post about a
recent experience you had with something you have a strong opinion
about. It can be negative or positive. Your post should be 6-10
sentences at a minimum. Compare and contrast what you are writing about
with other things similar to your topic. For example: If you are writing
about a record from a particular artist, compare it to similar artists
or the artists earlier work. Same for restaurants, etc. See examples for
ideas. The key is to be passionate.
Ideas:
- Movie review - Compare two movies you recently saw and what you like or disliked about them.
- Book review - see movie review...
- Travel experience
- Restaurant review
- Fashion review
- Technology

Last February, I traveled to Greece with my classmates from my previous school. We went as a class to Greece over Mid-Winter break. We took a 9 hour flight to Athens, Greece. We stayed in Greece for a week. We visited many cities for the day such as Delphi. It was won of the best trips of my life. Compared to other trips I have taken in past, this trip was one of my favorites. Even though the flight was really long (9 hours going and 11 hours coming back), it was totally worth it. I was able to see many historical monuments that I have always wanted to see such as the Parthenon. It was also fun going to Greece with my classmates.
ReplyDeleteOne movie series I absolutely love is Harry Potter. I was addicted to it as soon as I was introduced to the first movie of the series. It is filled with mystery and magic. You never know what is going to happen next. I love that each move leaves you with a cliffhanger. Whenever you think the story is over, you realize it has just begun.
ReplyDeleteThere were so many amazing events that occurred during the Harry Potter Series. Even though all of the movies were amazing, there was one that stuck out to me. My favorite movie of the series was Harry Potter and the Half Blood Prince. It provides a lot of new information that leaves you with an awesome cliffhanger. Harry Potter and the Half Blood Prince is about Harry Potter’s sixth year at Hogwarts. Harry believes that Draco, Harry’s arch nemesis, is working for Voldemort, the main villain in the series. Later on in the movie, Harry borrows a textbook for Slughorn’s Potions class. In the textbook, the Half Blood Prince left corrections to potions that helped Harry Potter pass his class. We also learn from a memory that the reason Voldemort is alive and powerful is because he split his soul into seven horcruxes. The only way to destroy him is to destroy all of the horcruxes. We later learn that Draco is attempting to kill Dumbledore, the headmaster of Hogwarts. When he is unable to do so, Snape, a professor at Hogwarts, kills him. He then says that he is the Half Blood Prince. This provides us with so much important information. It also leaves us with the question, “Why did Snape kill Dumbledore?”
My least favorite Harry Potter movie is Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire. In this movie, Harry is in his fourth year of school. Nothing really exciting happens in this movie. We learn that a Triwizard Tournament is going to be taking place at Hogwarts. It is a dangerous series of games played by students seventeen and older. To get a chance to play in the tournament, you had to put your name in the Goblet of Fire. If you were younger than seventeen, you were not allowed to place your name in the goblet. Harry was not yet old enough to try and enter the tournament, but he was chosen to compete. We find out at the end of the movie that Barty Crouch, placed Harry Potter’s name in the goblet to put him in danger.
